We set off from Kuala Lumpur at 10am and the drive takes about 4-5 hours. We arrived at Felda Kampung Sungai Tementong, Kuala Lipis, Pahang around 1pm. On arrival I was there, I did not feel surprised at the atmosphere and environment of the village because the situation is not so bad as my colleagues have said. This is because, we must understand their situation is not necessarily the same as ours in the city much better than them. As I see it, the situation there is not so bad. They were still sitting at the stone house although wood is still strong. They also have a community center, a kindergarten. It was just that, they are quite far from the city and difficult to obtain raw materials. At night, we were given a host family. We have also been given the opportunity to pay a visit to their home. That is where I ask a question. They say they are difficult to obtain raw materials, due to their position away. They would just say to Bandar Lipis which is 32km from the village, only to buy raw materials for cooking and other goods essential items. There too I see them only using motor instead of car.

About the children there. they are very active and they themselves came to the car to pick up the goods to be placed in the balai raya. What I was very surprised because before I got there, I thought the children in the village was very quiet and we should approach them and say hello to them at first. Apparently, I was wrong. The kids was very love to sing and talk. They seems like very energetic and hyperactive. They are very open and it was as though we were very happy to welcome us come to their place. There, I thought, maybe they rarely visited by outsiders, and when someone comes, they were very happy.

Their life is like a normal person. It was just that they get less attention by outsiders and there may be some people who do not want to take even know about them because they think they are natural persons. I also had the opportunity to ask my host family about their work. Basically, they're just a rubber tapper. There is a rubber plantation not far from their village. In the early morning, they would go out into the field to tapping rubber. After lunch, they will go home to prepare lunch for their children. Kids there is also going to school like other children, except the environment that differentiate between their school and school in any city. But they still can study and learn like other children. Their age is between 6-15 years there. Surprisingly, there is a young child who is called Na, she said she had studied in Kuala Lumpur and had to return to their village of her parents' instructions. She is very clever and very proficient in English. It was very surprising to me. Because I do not speak much English though.

There also we have jointly worked together to clean up the village. We were split into several groups. I choose to decorate the nursery with making origami decorations. Suddenly, there was my friend who was injured while doing the cleaning. We went to the clinic some distance from the village. There, I learned about teamwork and care for one another. Same with the people there, they can live happily even with a not enough facilities, with the values they practiced. There also we have to do a little exercise, sharing sessions and cook together. The villagers there were very affectionate and loves to chat.

In the end, I had a little sharing with the kids there. I advise them to study hard and make their parents proud of them. Because I believe they can be successful as others, because we are all just the same. Only differentiate us the people, culture and religion. I am very pleased to complete this project successfully and was excited to be able to learn about the lives of others.

Thank you.
